Frequently Asked Questions About Birth Photography
1. “When should I book my birth photographer?”
I recommend booking during your second trimester to secure your spot. I only take a limited number of births each month to ensure availability and focus.
2. “What if I go into labor in the middle of the night?”
I am on-call for you 24/7 from 38 weeks until your baby arrives. Whether it’s 2 am or 2 pm, I’ll be ready to join you when labor is active.
3. “How do you handle modesty or private moments?”
Your comfort is my top priority. I discuss your boundaries in detail beforehand, and I only capture what you’re comfortable with. You always have full control over what’s included in your final gallery.
4. “Do you photograph C-sections or planned births?”
Absolutely. I am experienced with documenting C-sections, inductions, and planned births. If your hospital allows a photographer in the OR, I’ll be there. If not, I document everything leading up to and after the birth in a powerful way.
5. “Will you work well with my doctor or midwife?”
Yes. I take a calm, respectful, and discreet approach that prioritizes your birth team and experience. I don’t interfere—I blend into the background to let your story unfold naturally.
6. “How long do you stay after the birth?”
I typically stay 1–2 hours postpartum to capture the first cuddles, feeding, and family introductions—those beautiful golden-hour moments you’ll never get back.
7. “Do you offer payment plans?”
Yes, I offer flexible payment options to help make this once-in-a-lifetime experience accessible. I’ll work with you to create a plan that suits your needs.
8. “Can I add on a video package?”
Definitely. I offer a short, emotive highlight film as part of one of the collections—perfect for reliving the emotion of the day through movement and sound.
9. “What if you miss the birth?”
In rare cases where a birth is very fast or unforeseen circumstances prevent me from arriving on time, I still capture meaningful imagery before and after. I also have backup photographers on standby during your on-call period.
10. “Will my photos be shared online?”
Only if you give me written permission. I always respect your privacy and only share work with your full consent.
